Q&A #12: Women's rights

The federal government should help guide our country to economic prosperity, actual health, and reduce crime. Hopefully medical discoveries and breakthroughs will ensure every desired pregnancy will culminate in the birth of a healthy child and mother. We should invest in research to advance birth control to make it easier, more effective and without side effects in order to prevent any unintended pregnancies. With the best circumstances possible, the need and want for abortions will be mitigated to the smallest level possible. One day, perhaps even entirely.

In the tragic cases where a fetus no longer has a heartbeat and/or the risk of sepsis to the mother could be mitigated, I would support an abortion.

Regarding the other issues regarding rape and incest, I support the death penalty for violent rapists and pedophiles. At a minimum, forced sterilization and permanent removal from society.

If it were up to me, preventing these crimes would be the top priority. For the women subjected to these crimes that result in a pregnancy without their consent, we should offer a caesarean at the earliest possible time the child would be viable. The government should cover this cost and any recovery entirely. Society and government should improve the foster care system to ensure children are cared for appropriately and not abused. We have ample technology to ensure these children are protected and cared for.
